No Escape: How To Get Through the Hardest Chapter in Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Jeux

I've written about the hardest chapter in Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, and what makes it so difficult. And now, for those of you who have yet to experience this chapter (called No Escape) on crushing mode, here are a few pointers that might help you get through the chapter without dying 50 times like I did.

This is for the very first encounter of the chapter, because it's a very, very tough encounter. For those of you who are stuck on this encounter, please pay attention, because it could come in handy.

When the encounter starts, you and Elena are gazing at a ship graveyard rife with Shoreline mercenaries, and they are armed to the teeth. You can either go left, forward, or right. Question is, which way?

You start at the high ground, with several enemies rushing to your position. You can't stay here too long, because they will either try to throw grenades, or the snipers on the upper deck of the ship across from you will focus on your position. I tried going right and using the grappling hook to swing to the nearest platform on the mast. This was a start, but then my only barricade was wood and it turned to pieces in seconds. Plus, enemies were throwing grenades at me, so I couldn't keep the high ground long.

I dropped into the water, and tried swimming to the other side to flank the snipers. Makes sense, right? Well, there were Shoreline guys rushing to the other side, and a few of them were already waiting for me. There were times I would die as soon as I emerged from the water.

So after trying that another fifty times, I decided to go left and not use the grappling hook. Trust me, the hook WILL NOT help you in this encounter. There is lower ground right below you, where some enemies will try to flank you. Throw grenades as accurately as you can, and keep moving. Roll to cover because the snipers will get bead on you, then throw more grenades at the enemies below you. Drop yourself down to the deck of the ship and take cover from the snipers. Either throw grenades to the guys coming at you or empty your clip on them. You can easily pick up their weapons. When that's done, roll from cover to cover to get underneath the snipers. Once you're under them, you can flank them from behind and take them out.

That's not the end, though. An explosion is heard from the ship next to the one you're fighting on and another group of Shoreline soldiers emerge. This time, it's a few grapplers, some snipers, some regular enemies, a guy with a grenade launcher, and two mini-gunners. You will most likely be out of grenades or ammo, so immediately run up the deck and grab some ammo and grenades.

The grapplers should be the first you kill, because if they grab you, you're dead. There will be a small beach area behind you where you can find a revolver. Use that to kill them quickly and try to conserve the ammunition. There are many grenades lying around, so grab them because you're going to need them. The mini-gunners will follow you everywhere, but there's high ground so make sure you rush your ass up to a vantage point. From there, you can take out the snipers and the grenade launcher guy, and all that's left are the mini-gunners. Throw all of your grenades at them, because one of them is bound to die from that.

When there's one left, go back down to the lower deck where you first landed. There is a very powerful assault rifle sitting in the back corner. Pick it up and unload the entire clip in that big bastard's head. That will kill him for sure. Keep in mind, the mini-guns always need a moment to cool down, then they start firing again, so find a good spot to cover yourself.

This is my guide to beating the first and toughest encounter in Uncharted 4: A Thief's End. I hope this helps, because No Escape is a tough chapter and I'm sure there are many people stuck on it. The rest of the chapter isn't as hard, but if you make it past this first part, you're pretty much at the homestretch already.
